This is one of a series of short excerpts from The Voice of the Martyrs I Am N Curriculum.
In northern Iraq, militant Muslims (ISIS) spray-painted the Arabic letter ن, or “N,” on the homes and businesses of Christians. The property owners were publicly identified as Christ-followers and given a choice to convert to Islam, leave or die. The courageous believers refused to deny their faith, and more than 100,000 fled with little more than the clothes on their backs. Today you can stand with them by making the following commitment: “I will not let them suffer in silence. I will not let them serve alone.”
This video shows the perseverance that some followers of Christ are displaying in the midst of hardship and persecution and is part of a series of short videos created for Exile Night. Exile Night is an interactive opportunity that the Voice of the Martyrs created for youth groups, student groups and churches to experience a small taste of what it is like to live as a refugee for one night. Participants get to identify with their persecuted family members in a tangible way, experiencing a small piece of what displaced believers face every day, eating what they eat, sleeping how they sleep and being inspired that faith in Christ is what matters—even when it costs everything.
